Electrocardiogram (EKG) monitor technicians are primarily responsible for monitoring patients' heart statuses in a hospital environment. At Rosewood Career Institute Inc. in Houston, TX, EKG technician students receive comprehensive training in recording and monitoring the heart's electrical activity. As part of their education, they gain practical experience in preparing patients for various EKG testing procedures, including Holter monitoring and exercise stress testing. The EKG technician course aims to prepare students to pass a national certification exam.
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet several requirements. These include holding a high school diploma, submitting an official transcript or GED, attending an information session, clearing a background check, providing identification and Social Security information, and showing evidence of up-to-date immunizations as clinical sites require.
Classes are available in a Hybrid learning mode. All coursework will be completed online except skills, which will be completed in the classroom. This course will train you to work as an EKG technician and prepare you to become a Certified EKG Technician (CET) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
We offer classes throughout the year, with on-site CPR training for your convenience.
The program costs $695, with flexible payment plans available to meet your financial needs.
