Phlebotomists are trained professionals who draw blood from patients for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. At Rosewood Career Institute Inc. in Houston, TX, phlebotomy training focuses on teaching the skills necessary to perform venipunctures, which is the primary blood collection method. If you choose this field, you need to be comfortable with blood, needles, databases, test tubes, and blood vials. You will learn to draw blood, verify the patient’s or blood donor’s identity, label the blood, and enter patient information into a database. You'll also be trained to assemble and maintain equipment to prevent infections or other complications. Phlebotomists work in hospitals, clinics, and mobile labs.
Classes are available in a convenient Hybrid learning mode that can fit even the busiest schedules; you'll receive personalized help from our expert instructors along the way and finish the program ready for your future career as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). Students must bring at least two volunteers on our community stick day and obtain a minimum of 30 sticks throughout the program. All coursework will be completed online except skills, which will be completed in the classroom. This course will train you to work as a phlebotomy technician and prepare you for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification from the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
We offer classes throughout the year, with on-site CPR training for your convenience.
The program costs $695, with flexible payment plans available to meet your financial needs.
